of expectations that we were going to get more transparency, particularly because president obama had just the night before said senators could -- senators from the intelligence committees could read the classified office memo, it did not lead to any greater sunlight about the program itself. first of all, that memo remains classified. the senators were allowed to go in, not their staffs, and by virtue of the fact that it remains classified, they couldn't even ask brennan any questions about what it is they read. and brennan himself was actually, in many respects, less forthcoming about the drone and targeted killing program than he has been in the past. he didn't even use the word drone, something that he had in a speech last year. so while he defended the program in general terms, said it was a last resort, said that we are actually trying to prevent, save lives, not punish people for past actions, revealed very little about the process by which people are selected for targeted killings, what the review process is, what the checks are, and those are are the questions at the core of this

there tomorrow. >>> president obama has officially declared a state of emergency in connecticut. towns and cities across that state saw some of the highest snow totals from the blizzard. as jolene king reports, some neighbors are still waiting to be plowed out while others are making progress digging out. >> reporter: i'm actually standing up here on a 20-foot snowbank which is a common sight to see here in waterbury where snowplows have been working overtime to clear the roads. a lot of are frustration is also coming from ris dents who are still on residential streets unable to get plowed out and they're totally snowed in. health care workers are having issues getting to patients who are confined to their homes, and people are still unable to drive on roads to get groceries and to get to work. so governor malloy says it may take up to ten days for connecticut roads to get back to normal, and as you can see, the sun is shining here in connecticut today, but tomorrow it could get even more complicated. it's scheduled to rain. reporting in danbury, connecticut, i'm jolene kent for nbc news. >> time
